AktiVax’s co-founder and CEO, Amir Genosar, has a 25 year track record in drug delivery device innovation. Amir is a serial inventor and entrepreneur who founded several startup companies in the drug delivery device space including SteadyMed (NASDAQ: STDY – wearable pump Specialty Pharma), Aespira (dry powder inhaler technology), AktiVax and Fluonic (advanced infusion systems). Along his career Amir has helped several leading healthcare companies innovate and address unmet needs in the drug delivery device space including Avail Medical (now FlexMed), MAP Pharma (acquired by Allergan), Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic, Novartis, Phillips and others. Amir has a background in high-volume disposable medical manufacturing.
Scott Kothlow, Chief Financial Officer, is a seasoned bio-tech and pharma CFO, bringing 25 years of financial experience building companies from early stage to international world class commercialization. Scott has been pivotal in several value creating business transactions, including Venture Capital, M&A, and licensing, totaling over $300M. Prior to AktiVax, Scott was the CFO for SomaLogic in Boulder Colorado.
Iftach Seri, VP Commercial Operations, brings 22 years of experience in the generic drug industry. In his latest role (2013-2015) as the Executive VP API Division of Sun Pharma he has been responsible for a $300M Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) manufacturing, managing 9 global sites and 3000 employees. In addition, in this position, he supported all strategic processes, M&A’s and business integration. Prior to this position Iftach has been in executive positions with leading generic drug manufacturers in a variety of roles including sales and marketing, customer service and technical support, regulatory, manufacturing, quality, and process development.
Jeff Steward, VP Engineering, has over 25 years of experience in Medical Device Design, Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory and Program Management. Jeff specializes in the development and implementation of the processes needed to commercialize novel medical products, such as Design Controls (CFR 820), Manufacturing (ISO 9001), and Quality/Regulatory (ISO 13485) systems, as well as customized manufacturing processes and equipment needed for high quality medical manufacturing. Jeff has led the development and implementation of numerous medical product lines, including prefilled drug delivery devices, and automated syringe filling.
